Manglerud Star – Storhamar 2-6 (2-0, 0-3, 0-3)
The Yellows didn’t seem to have left the buss during the first period. The home team were sharper in every aspect of the game and scored a couple to take a two goal lead into the first break. The goals were scored by Mathias Trygg and Peter Lindblad.
Something was said in the locker room after the brutal performance in the first, cause it was a totally different team that came out for the middle act. Storhamar dominated in every zone, and after a while the goals came as well, three of them to be exact. Mikael Zettergren became the first yellow dressed player to capitalize as he was nicely fed on the far post in a powerplay. A few minutes later Phil Marinaccio took it back on level terms when his beauty of a toe-drag wrister beat Mikkel Wik between the pipes. Josh Nicholls sent Storhamar ahead just a minute later, assisted by Eirik Skadsdammen.
The visitors had total control in the third and another three goals were scored. Mikael Zettergren scored a copy of his first, a bit further out on the side though, in a powerplay dished up by Hampus Gustafsson. The Robin Dahlstrøm made it five on a rebound in another powerplay, the third PP goal of the evening. And finally Christian Larrivée made the final result 6-2 shorthanded. The Gaspé native first missed a breakaway from point blank range, but then took another round in the O-zone, dribbled a few and found the net with a backhander. It was a beauty, a goal worthy to finish the game off.
