Storhamar have come to terms with Swedish veteran forward Jens Jakobs for a season long deal. The 33 year old comes from AIK Solna in Allsvenskan (SWE2).
Jakobs, who is the older brother of last season’s assistant coach in Storhamar, Jeff Jakobs, has played in Sweden for his whole career, both in the Swedish elite league and in Allsvenskan. In Allsvenskan he’s actually the all time leading scorer having racked up 305 points (132 + 173) in 490 games, and he’s also produced 36 points (18 + 18) in 119 games in the SHL.
Coach Fredrik Söderström states that Storhamar will gain a great warrior in Jens Jakobs, a gritty forward who’s got a nose for goals and also is a team player who’s not afraid of getting his nose dirty.
We welcome Jens Jakobs to Storhamar.
